Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

WHAT MUSIC CAN YOU PLAY?

The short answer? Anything. We have an outstanding library of everything from classical, broadway, jazz standards, and big band to the Beatles and Coldplay. Whatever piece you’ve always dreamed of walking in to, Armonico can make it happen. Please visit our current Full Music Listing.

DO YOU HAVE A DEMO CD?

Even better – visit our Virtual Audition to immediately hear live recordings of our ensemble.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES IN THE STRING ENSEMBLES?

Please visit our Types of Ensembles page for a complete description of the ensembles offered by Armonico.

CAN YOU TIME THE LENGTHS OF SONGS RIGHT?

Yes. All Armonico ensembles are able to fade out of songs at the right times when different parts of the ceremony are transitioning. You will not have to worry about the string ensemble playing the entire piece (too long), or selecting a piece that is too short. All songs are customizable and will work flawlessly within your ceremony’s timing.

WHAT IS THE MUSICIANS’ ATTIRE?

Our attire is classy and stylish. Armonico men wear black suit and tie with a white shirt, and the ladies dress to match. See the Photo Gallery section of the site for an idea.

WILL YOU PERFORM OUTDOORS?

Absolutely. We do require a covered performance area – direct sunlight can cause irreparable damage to our expensive instruments, including delamination of seams, strings breaking, and cracking of wood. In addition, our instruments cannot be exposed to water, such as from rain, fountains, or extreme humidity. We will be more than happy to work to find a solution to any possible issues concerning your particular venue.

WILL YOU ACCOMPANY MY AUNT SALLY WHO IS SINGING IN THE WEDDING?

Yes. We routinely coordinate with pianists, vocalists, woodwind, and brass musicians prior to the event in order to perform certain pieces as requested by the client. Examples include “backing up” a vocalist on Ave Maria, performing the traditional Wagner (“Here comes the bride”) wedding march with the church resident organist, or performing the “Trumpet Voluntary” bridal march with a trumpeter. However, if a rehearsal is required, this will incur an extra fee of $50/musician/hour.

DO YOU PROVIDE SOUND EQUIPMENT?

No. We recommend you consult with a sound engineer, entertainment functions group, or your guest facility to accommodate such needs.

WILL YOU ATTEND THE REHEARSAL?

Typically this is not necessary, and we only recommend having a musician present at the rehearsal if your ceremony requires highly unique or complicated coordination between the musicians and the other ceremony participants. In this case, you can book a musician for the rehearsal at the rate of $50/musician/hr.

DO YOU CHARGE FOR TRAVEL?

For events located more than 30 miles outside of our respective “downtown” locales, a travel rate of $2/mile (one way only) is applied to your balance, and will be computed as the distance from our office in Midtown Atlanta to the venue address. Thus, an event located 50 miles outside of Atlanta incurs a travel price of $100.

HOW SOON SHOULD I BOOK?

Armonico’s calendar starts filling up a year in advance.

HOW DO I BOOK?

First, fill out an inquiry form so that we can confirm availability for your event date. Once we have confirmed availability, we will issue the Proposal, Invoice, and Contract, which you will return, signed, along with a non-refundable 20% deposit. Booking is finalized upon receipt of the deposit in the Armonico office.

Please click the Request a Quote tab on the website to submit an inquiry right now!

WHEN IS MY FINAL BALANCE DUE?

The final balance for all Armonico events is due 14 days before the scheduled date of your event. Please note: we DO NOT accept payment on the date of performance. If the final balance has not been received, Armonico will not be present for the event.

WHAT IF I CANCEL?

Cancellations must be made 14 days before the event. At this point we will refund the entire balance minus the 20% deposit. The strength of our policy allows us to permanently reserve a date and time for your event, often turning down many other inquiries for the same date and time.
